The Catch and Carry Angels

Some stories occur over months and we don’t necessarily know or understand the interconnectedness of the events until they are over, and in this case I have a strong feeling the story is not yet complete and may not be until I make the crossing, but I will share what has transpired to date.

Jeno* and Levi* were best friends for 25 years, they attended school together and had been inseparable from they day they first met. I have known them both all of those years as family friends, I have never really understood the connection between them, they were polar opposites in nearly every way. Jeno was an outgoing intelligent business man who was a nationally ranked Moto-Cross racer and attracted hoards of women. Everything came easily to him while Levi was average in everyway, someone who blends into the scenery, gets tongue tied around women and the struggles with every facet of life. I was a little shocked when they expressed a desire to learn Reiki, and more than happy to welcome them into class.

That day in August started as nearly every other day as I was setting up the healing center for the class that would be held there later. Just to explain, I am clairvoyant which means I see things with my Third Eye (mind’s eye) that vibrate at different frequencies than we can see with our two physical eyes. Generally this occurs when my physical eyes are closed, and it has been known to happen with my physical eyes open. I was changing the sheets on the healing table when it happened. There, floating two feet over the table was an angel. I could see it with my eyes open and I was afraid to look away for fear it would disappear. The angel looked exactly as you would expect, it appeared to be feminine with long blond hair, exquisitely beautiful and dressed in pink robes. She was probably six feet tall judging by the length of the healing table as she was floating in a prone position directly over the table. I was literally awestruck and feeling incredibly honored as this angel must surely be here to bless the class today. The angel eventually faded from sight but I could still feel the presence lingering.

I don’t know why I didn’t share the presence of the angel with the class; I guess the fact that two of the attendees were men who spent hours with their hands covered in grease from motorcycle parts may have been a factor, and for now I just wanted to savor the gift. The class seemed to be a struggle that day as Jeno wanted to question the why and how of every single process. Finally the time came for the attunement process. I knew I could enjoy a few minutes of blessed silence as the students are asked to remain in silence throughout the ceremony.

Jeno was last to receive the attunement, as I stepped behind him and placed my hands on his shoulders another angel appeared. This angel was a mirror image of the first one with the exception that “she” was dressed in blue rather than pink. She was in Jeno’s energy field and I waited for her to move out of the way so that I could continue with the attunement but it didn’t appear that was going to happen any time soon. I made a decision to do the attunement angel or not and literally worked through the angel. I could pass my hand through her as if she was a hologram and she seemed to be oblivious to my work or my presence. Her demeanor didn’t change nor did she acknowledge the fact that I was passing my hand right through her elegant face. While this was certainly one of the most interesting attunements I have ever done it didn’t seem to be unusual or more powerful than any other except for the presence of this angel.

When the attunement ceremony was over I couldn’t shake this nagging question, what is it about Jeno that would bring the presence of such magnificent angels? To be honest he was not one of my favorite people on the planet. He was self-absorbed most of the time, unkind on occasion and rarely spiritual, so why were these angels in attendance? I thought you would see this kind of energy around a very spiritual person not a skeptic like Jeno. Maybe the Universe shows us these things so we can see these flawed people as Spirit sees them and not through our own judgments and narrow thinking. I couldn’t contain my curiosity any longer so I asked Jeno, “Do you know about the two angels around you?”

Jeno just shrugged his shoulders and looked away for a moment, “No” he said. It was clear that he did know about them, but I honored his desire and didn’t probe any deeper.

The rest of the class however was overcome with the need to know more so I described the events of the day and the angelic apparitions. They each wanted to know if I saw angels around them as well. I had to honestly say “No I didn’t; but that doesn’t mean that they are not there.” I continued, “Angels, Guides, Ascended Masters and Spirit are around everyone all the time and it would be really distracting if we could see them all the time. It would make showering an uncomfortable experience.”

The day ended and from time to time the nagging question about the angels would surface and I would push it aside. Life goes on.

Thanksgiving of that year was full of activity at our house as it always is when you have a large extended family. It was not unusual to have 50 people over for dinner and it takes a lot of planning to coordinate the meal and field questions from the crew of family members involved in the preparation. When the phone rang someone else answered it as I had my hands tied up with something. Levi called to say that Jeno had been in an accident that morning while practicing for a race. He needed surgery to repair the damage so they wouldn’t be there for dinner. No alarms went off in my head; Jeno had broken lots of bones in a sport that was fraught with physical injury. Levi promised to call later with an update.

We had a wonderful day with family and of course later that evening there would be healing sessions for those who lingered in hopes of getting a treatment. It was such a satisfying day on every level and there was such peace in the house. You could feel the presence of all the family members on the other side who came to join in the celebration. Finally everyone departed and John and I were lying in bed discussing the events of the day when the phone rang. John answered and after a few mumbled words passed the phone to me. It was Levi; Jeno was more badly injured than previously thought. He asked if we could come to the hospital and do some healing on him. The answer was, of course! I called my sister to meet us there as she and her husband are gifted healers in their own right. Levi had already called them and they were on their way out the door.

On the ride to the hospital I tried to center on Jeno to check on his condition but all I could see was a helicopter. Thinking I must be tired from a long day I ceased my attempts and just sent prayers instead. We arrived at the hospital and the night was so quiet, there was no sound that penetrated the darkness.

As we approached the entrance to the hospital there was Jeno, standing propped up against the building with a big grin on his face. I mentally asked him what he was doing out here, and how was he injured as he looked perfectly fine to me. I was a little annoyed at him for what appeared to be a really bad joke. He looked completely 3-D except for the wispy silver cord attached to his navel. It took a few seconds for reality to soak in; he probably shouldn’t have that cord attached to his navel.

I glanced over at John and he wasn’t looking over at the place where Jeno was standing. I couldn’t contain myself; I had to ask, “John, do you see Jeno standing over there?” I motioned in the direction of where he was standing.

“No, but I think if you can see him, that probably isn’t a good sign.” He said.

We got on the elevator for the ride to the floor where the ICU was located. “I don’t want to do this.” I said as I wiped away the tears from my face.

We stepped off the elevator and as we entered the ICU waiting room we were greeted by Levi and all of Jeno’s family. The introduction started off with Levi saying, “This is the lady who saw Jeno’s angels.” An awkward silence followed and Levi finally broke the silence by introducing us to Jeno’s parents and brothers who were clinging to one another like drowning victims clinging to the last viable piece of wood from a sinking ship. My sister arrived during the introductions and when they were finished Levi ushered us into Jeno’s room.

I was immediately struck not only by the absence of Jeno’s angels but of Jeno himself. There was a body lying in the bed but for all intents and purposes it was a corpse. My mind went in to high gear trying to find a way out of this impossible situation.

I can honestly say that I have never encountered such a group of people in mass denial in my life. There was not one single person in that group in the waiting room who knew or even entertained the idea that Jeno was dead.

There in the bed was a body, its face bruised and swollen beyond recognition and half of the head was bandaged from the recent surgery. The sound of the respirator breaking the eerie silence with its rhythmic pumping of artificial life into the shell no longer alive but not yet completely dead.

Thankfully Jeno’s doctor entered the room while we stood in a quandary about what we should do. I have no idea why this doctor told us the things he did because we were not family but we seemed to be the only ones around who would actually listen to what he was saying.

Jeno had suffered a complete separation of the brain stem from the spinal cord. He was practicing for a race west of town that morning when he went head first over the handlebars, breaking his neck. A Flight for Life helicopter transported him to the hospital but he died in route. Paramedics kept his body alive and his parents insisted on the surgery to stabilize his injuries even though there is absolutely no hope that he will ever recover or be able to live once the respirator is removed.

Jeno’s father is a friend and the doctor performed the surgery at the father’s insistence hoping that would give him the time he needed to come to terms with the inevitable. He was going to approach the family about organ and tissue donation in a few minutes and it was obvious he was dreading the conversation.

Knowing there was nothing we could do in this room we all filed out and I whispered to Levi to join us in the waiting room down the hall once the doctor had updated the family. By now there were a few of Jeno’s friends who had joined the growing crowd in the ICU waiting room. Many knew who we were and somehow sensed what that something had changed they followed us down the hall to the empty surgical waiting room. Once inside the room with the doors closed we filled in the rest of people who had joined us on Jeno’s situation. The door opened and Levi entered the room still in shock and unable to comprehend his best friend with whom he shared his home and his life for 25 years was truly gone. We all stood in a circle and joined hands in a prayer of releasing asking Jeno’s spirit find comfort and peace in the Light. We spent time sharing our memories of Jeno and I came to understand why the angels had surrounded him that day in class months before.

I have heard about the Catch and Carry angels before but I had never sensed or certainly seen them consciously before my experience with Jeno. The Catch and Carry angels are with every person at least six months and sometimes more before they cross.

The way the Universe works is truly a mystery, and my understanding is everyone has at least five exit points at which they can leave the planet. There certainly is one stronger than the others but we all have at least five. Somehow, someway we make a choice one of those exits points is the right one or the right one for us and our purpose. The Catch and Carry’s appear to help us prepare for a successful crossing. In absolutely every case that someone dies in an “accident” and a friend or family member comes to me for a reading I ask them to, “Think back and there is a point in retrospect you remember this person said goodbye before the accident occurred.” In every single case, without exception, they will say yes, there was something said that could be interpreted as a signal the person was saying they would be leaving. Jeno was no exception and it turns out he made extensive preparations for his passing in the days and weeks prior to Thanksgiving.

Jeno’s funeral was attended by more than 1200 mourners and those who were the most devastated were Jeno’s siblings and his best friend Levi. Jeno’s father had never been what you might call emotionally stable having attempted suicide on several occasions and his anger at his son having made it off the planet was pretty evident. To vent his rage he had written letters to Jeno’s surviving brothers and sister in which he detailed his disappointment that it been Jeno who had died and not the sibling to whom the letter had been addressed. Levi was being pulled into this drama in an effort to comfort these people who had been left with no where to turn. After the service Jeno’s sister approached me to ask if I would meet her the next day at Jeno and Levi’s house. She wanted to know more about where her brother was now and if he was okay on the other side. We set a time and after that conversation became impossible as the sound of 300 motorcycles starting up in unison and riding off filled the air.

John and I arrived at Jeno’s home the day after the funeral with high hopes of the next stage of this adventure. Those hopes were instantly dashed when Jeno’s sister arrived with her husband in tow. When they say daughters marry their father this woman had gone the extra mile in finding one of the darkest souls on the planet. Completely devoid of the presence of light this posturing pompous poser would tell people he was an airline pilot when in reality he was a baggage handler. The fact that someone is a skeptic doesn’t affect me one way or the other, but when you are in the presence of someone who is this far from the Light you have to be in protective mode which prevents the “openness” required to see the vibrations of those who have crossed. My mind was racing to think of a solution. All the while Jeno’s sister rattled off questions seeming oblivious to the snarling energies of her spouse.

We were still standing talking when there was a knock at the door. I glanced out the window and at first I saw an old man standing rather bent on the porch. When I blinked I saw what can only be described as a gargoyle standing there! I was afraid to blink again for fear I would lose sight of this amazing being. The mind often uses the blinking response as a way to reconcile what the mind cannot. So, in the blink of an eye, the visage of an old man replaced that of the ancient winged warrior.

Most people don’t know the original function of gargoyles on churches was two-fold. The gargoyles where actually drain spouts that would protect the ornate façades from erosion from rain water. The second purpose was to protect the inhabitants and valuables by warding off evil spirits. It is from this belief the concept of hollowed ground evolved, evil spirits could not enter or make mischief in a church protected by gargoyles. No two gargoyles were ever the same as the artists who carved them gave them life and intention and purpose through the long months it took to create them. While I’m sure the being at the door was an angelic presence he used this ancient symbol of protection as a way to convey his purpose. I just love the perfection of the Universe!

Levi answered the door and the most interesting tale drifted to our ears as we all began to unconsciously move toward the porch. The old man standing there was probably around 65-70 years of age wearing khaki pants and a button down shirt and one of those padded lumberjack looking shirts for a coat. His personal hygiene looked impeccable and the few hairs left on his bald head were combed and clean. He wasn’t even accompanied by the “old man” smell of decay that emanates from people as they approach the end of their days. The one odd thing was that he was bent. Not like bone disease bent but bent from the hips like he lacked the physical supporting structure to stand upright His knees seemed to be permanently locked in position in the same state of well, bent.

“I’m sorry to bother you” he said, “but I have become lost.” He continued “I am on my way to meet a church group, who promised to take me somewhere to get medication for my heart condition and a place to stay. I have to meet them at a shopping center and I find that I am too weak to get there. Is it possible for someone to drive me?” We all looked at one another in stunned silence.

Levi and Jeno’s house is in the middle of a nice residential neighborhood with many gentle hills. It is situated half way down the block at least two miles from a bus line or a grocery store. This gentleman had to negotiate at least twenty steps without a hand rail to get to the front door. He was not in any way demonstrating the symptoms of someone in physical distress, he wasn’t even winded from the climb. I’m certain that fact escaped the others; they were just shocked that in this day and age when people rarely know the names of their neighbors that a stranger would show up at the front door asking for help.

“I will take you” Jeno’s sister offered.

“No you will not!” her husband exploded in anger. “I will not allow my wife to ride alone in a car with a complete stranger, I will take him”.

I exchanged a knowing glance and smile with the gentleman as Levi began giving directions to Jeno’s brother-in-law on how to get to the shopping center in question. They bustled out the door and we all looked at one another in amazement and relief. We knew we only had a few minutes to contact Jeno before the negative influence returned so we sat down to do her reading as soon as the car was out of the driveway.

Jeno came through immediately and expressed regret for the actions of his father after his passing. He also congratulated her on the impending birth of her daughter. This came as quite a shock to his sister as she had suffered from infertility for years and had longed for a child. As it turns out she had been pregnant for all of a week having conceived about the time of Jeno’s passing. He wanted his sister to know she was loved and he was looking forward to being reunited soon with his soul mate. The reading ended all too soon with the return of her husband.

The two most commonly asked questions in a reading are “is my loved one okay” and “why did they leave.” The state of “okay” varies from soul to soul and they leave because it was time. While every soul has multiple exit points most choose to exit at a point in time that creates the greatest ripple in the pond. In other words they leave when the impact of their leaving will create the greatest down stream shift for those who remain.

Jeno created a ripple by leaving and he also felt the absence of a particular soul mate in such a profound way that it prevented him from finding love on this plain of existence. While literally hundreds of former girl friends and “groupies” attended his funeral he did not leave behind a great love. Despite popular opinion we all have hundreds of soul mates, these soul clusters never incarnate together but it is possible for dozens of mates to incarnate at the same time.

Even the term “twin flame” is a misnomer as a twin flame is a nine fold soul group. Soul mates can be male or female and they are the basis of the saying “this is someone with whom I had an immediate connection and I feel as if I have known them forever”; because you have. Jeno and Levi are certainly soul mates but Jeno was searching for one particular member of his twin flame that didn’t incarnate with him. He and his twin flame have since been reunited on the other side.

I have never really understood why one of the most enlightening experiences of my life occurred with someone with whom I had no profound connection. I suspect it was for this purpose, that the ripple of his passing would be used to help others understand some of the great mysteries of the Universe. Jeno’s crossing served to truly demonstrate we are never alone at any stage of this process we call life, not in our coming and not in our going or at in point in between. Sometimes we are aware we are in the presence of Love and more often we are not aware. That does not mean it isn’t there, it is in the allowing that. We are free to experience the journey.
